Rules of the Supplierthon 2019

Introduction

Before registering and participating in the “Supplierthon” (hereinafter referred to as the “Challenge”), the participant must accept the Rules of the Challenge (hereinafter referred to as the “Rules”).

To accept the present rules, the User must electronically tick the following box.

“I have read and unreservedly accepted the Rules”

By electronically ticking the aforementioned box, the user makes a contractual commitment to comply with the Rules.

The Rules apply in addition to the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy, which apply to your use of the Deloitte Innovation Platform www.deloitteinnovationplatform.com.

The Challenge is organized by BMW AG.

 

 

1. Who can participate?

 

The Challenge is open to companies who meet the following criteria:

  1. The company develops a technology related product or uses unique technology to solve problems.
  2. Technology must be developed in-house and contribute significantly to the company's revenue.
  3. The company owns proprietary intellectual property or proprietary technologies that are sold to customers in the form of products.
  4. The use of third-party technologies does not qualify for participation.

 

 

 2. Scope of the Challenge

 

 The Challenge will take place from 5th of July 2019 until 30th of September 2019. The Challenge is divided into different stages of processing steps. These steps are defined in section 6.

The BMW AG reserves the right to cancel the Challenge at any time.

The participation in the Challenge is free.

 

 

 

3. Registration

 

Registration for the Challenge is completed exclusively online.

Any person who wants to participate has to be 18 years or older.

Personal data will be processed as described in the Privacy Policy.

To apply for the Challenge, the User must register by following the “Deloitte Innovation Platform” registration flow.  

To apply for the challenge, the User must check the box indicating that she/he accepts the Rules of the Challenge.

 

 

4. Deliverables

 

The official languages is English. All deliverables must be provided in English.

To apply to the Challenge, the User must provide further information by following the application flow. This information contains:

  • Company details
  • Challenge category
  • Solution description
  • Pitch deck
  • Track record and relevant experience
  • PoC and business case concept

 

Deliverables that require uploads and attachments must be sent in a common digital format, such as: DOC (max. 10 pages)/DOCX (max. 10 pages)/PDF (max. 10 pages)/PPT (max. 10 slides)/PPTX (max. 10 slides)/ODT/MP3/MP4.

If the deliverables sent by a participant cannot be opened or read sufficiently, the participant concerned will be notified and given an opportunity to re-submit the documents. Deliverables will only be accepted if submitted during each of the submission periods. If a deliverable is submitted after the submission deadline as described in 6.1., the participant concerned will automatically be disqualified from the Challenge.

Each participant warrants that the content of the deliverables includes only contributions made by him-/herself. If it appears that contributions have been made by a third party, the participant and related company will be disqualified from the Challenge. No copyrighted photos or images may be used in the deliverables. In any event, Deloitte Digital GmbH and the BMW AG will not be responsible for the use of any images copyrighted by third parties.

The participant agrees that registration and application related information and deliverables will be shared with Deloitte Digital GmbH, the BMW AG and subcontractors.

By submitting the application, the participant agrees that the information submitted will be passed on to affiliates of Deloitte Digital GmbH, the BMW AG and subcontractors.

Deloitte Digital GmbH and the BMW AG will not disclose the information submitted by the participants to third parties without their consent.

By submitting the application, the participant agrees to the further use of the data provided in the registration form for repeated contact. The participant agrees to the storage of the data for a further 18 months.

Submitting an application does not guarantee an award or prize.

 

 

5. Refusal of applications

 

Any User that does not abide by the Rules, Privacy Policy and Terms of Use during her/his registration or at any time during the Challenge, will automatically and without prior notification be disqualified from the Challenge and shall not receive any award. In the event that an award goes to a participant that does not or did not comply with the Rules, Privacy Police and Terms of Use at the time of her/his registration or during the Challenge, the BMW Group has the discretionary right to demand the return of the award.

Deloitte Digital GmbH and the BMW AG may refuse registration for the event without having to state cause. As a matter of principle, there is no entitlement to participate in the Challenge. Likewise, Deloitte Digital GmbH and the BMW AG reserve the right to exclude participants at any time from the Challenge who have already been admitted. This applies in particular in cases in which the Rules of the Challenge are breached, or if technical means or other manipulative aids are deployed. In such event, the BMW AG is entitled to revoke the prizes and/or to demand that they be returned, as the case may be. This shall also apply should the users fail to make truthful statements in providing their personal details.

 

 

6. Timeline of the Challenge

 

The Challenge is divided into three phases and a final announcement.

1. Application phase

The application phase takes place from 5th of July 2019 to 30th of August 2019.

 By 11:59 pm (CET) on 30th of August 2019, participants must have finalized the complete application process including the required deliverables.

2. Mentoring phase 

The mentoring phase takes place from 2nd of September 2019 to 13th of September2019.

Selection for this phase will be based on the deliverables submitted by the company.

3. Selection phase

The selection phase takes place from 16th of September 2019 to 27th of September 2019.

A jury of experts selects the participants who will enter a POC phase with BMW.

 
4. Final Announcement

The final announcement takes place on 30th of September 2019. The following data of a winner will be publicly announced at the end of the selection process through various online channels.

  • Company name
  • Company address (headquarter)
  • Phone number
  • Website
  • Industry
  • Founding year
  • Short CV of CEO or founders
  • Short description of company and technology

 

 

7. Selection and reward of the Challenge Winners

 

 A jury of experts from the BMW AG will select the Challenge winners.

The selection is based on the application criteria as described in 1. Further selection criteria will apply such as but not limited to the following:

  • Relevance of the company’s solution or product
  • Company track record experience
  • Business impact for the BMW Group

Further criteria will be applied during the selection process.

 

 

8. Notification of the results of the preselection and Final Event

 

 BMW AG will inform all participants of the preselection results by no later than August 2019. Notification will be by email sent to the address entered at the time of account creation at www.deloitteinnovationplatform.com  and via notification to their www.deloitteinnovationplatform.com account. BMW AG reserve the right to change the dates of notification of the results if this should become necessary due to the number of projects to be evaluated. Pre-selected participants must respond to any email sent by Deloitte Digital GmbH, the BMW AG or their subcontractors before the specified deadline in the message has lapsed. Otherwise, BMW AG reserve the right to disqualify the defaulting participant and the related company application.

 

 

9. Privacy Policy

 

 Deloitte GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft stores and processes your personal data as defined in the Privacy Notice of the Deloitte Innovation Platform www.deloitteinnovationplatform.com and in accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

 

 

10. Final clause

 

 These Rules including exhibits and all matters relating to the Rules (including non-contractual obligations) shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany (without giving effect to the choice of law principles thereof). The venue is Munich, Germany.
