Rules of the Technology Fast 50 Award

 

Introduction

Before participating in the “Technology Fast 50 Award” (hereinafter referred to as the “Fast 50 Award”), each company must accept these Rules of the Fast 50 Award (hereinafter referred to as the “Rules”).

To accept the present Rules, the User must electronically tick the following box:

”I have read and unreservedly accepted the Rules”.

By electronically ticking the aforementioned box, the user makes a contractual commitment to comply with the Rules.

The Rules apply in addition to the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy, which apply to your use of the Deloitte Innovation Platform www.deloitteinnovationplatform.com.

The Fast 50 Award is organized by Deloitte GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft.

 

  1. Who can participate?

The Fast 50 Award is open to companies who meet the following criteria:

 

  1. The company owns proprietary intellectual property or proprietary technology, sold to customers in products that contribute to a majority of the company's operating revenues.
  1. Owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues
  2. Manufactures a technology related product
  3. Devotes a significant proportion of operating revenues to research and development of technology
  4. Be technology intensive, or use unique technology to solve problems

Note:

  • Using other companies' proprietary technology or intellectual property to fulfill the business purpose does not satisfy this requirement.
  • Consulting companies, professional service firms, resellers, and others are not eligible.

 

  1. The company has been existing for at least four years.

 

  1. The company’s revenue for the 2016 financial year was at least EUR 50,000 and for the 2019 financial year at least EUR 1,000,000.

 

  1. The company is headquartered in Germany (subsidiaries and divisions of operating companies are excluded from participation unless individual shares are held by third parties and the company is traded separately on the stock exchange.)

 

  1. Scope of the Fast 50 Award

The Fast 50 Award will take place from 1st of July until 30th of September. The Fast 50 Award is divided into different processing steps. Those steps are set out in the section below “6. Timeline of the Fast 50 Award”.

The purpose of the Fast 50 Award is to reward companies that show significant growth and meet the participation criteria as mentioned in section 1.

The participation at the Fast 50 Award is free.

 

  1. Registration

To apply for the Fast 50 Award, the user must register by following the "Technology Fast 50 Award" registration flow. Registration for the Fast 50 Award is exclusively to be done online. Any person, who wants to participate, has to be 18 years or older.

Personal data will be processed as described in the Privacy Policy.

To apply for the Fast 50 Award, the user must check the box indicating that she/he accepts the Rules of the Fast 50 Award.

 

  1. Deliverables

The official language is German. All deliverables must be provided in German.

To apply for the Fast 50 Award, the company must provide further information by following the application flow. This information contains:

Please note: Sales revenues must be reported for the fiscal year ending in the calendar year concerned; the definition in Section 277 (1) HGB (German Commercial Code) must be applied. Please enclose extracts from the relevant annual fiscal statements at the end of your application as evidence.

Deliverables that require uploads and attachments must be sent in a common digital format, such as: DOC (max. 10 pages)/DOCX (max. 10 pages)/PDF (max. 10 pages)/PPT (max. 10 slides)/PPTX (max. 10 slides)/ODT/MP3/MP4.

If the deliverables sent by a participant cannot be opened or read sufficiently, the participant concerned will be notified and given an opportunity to re-submit the documents. Deliverables will only be accepted if submitted during each of the submission periods as described under “6. Timeline of the Fast 50 Award”. If a deliverable is submitted after the submission deadline as described in “6. Timeline of the Fast 50 Award”, the participant concerned will automatically be disqualified from the Fast 50 Award.

Each participant warrants that the content of the deliverables includes only contributions made by him-/herself. If it appears that contributions have been made by a third party, the participant will be disqualified from the Fast 50 Award. No copyrighted photos or images may be used in the deliverables. In any event, Deloitte GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft will not be responsible for the use of any images copyrighted by third parties.

The participant agrees that registration and application related information and deliverables, as mentioned under 4. Deliverables, will be shared with the Fast 50 Award sponsors/supporters as well as with the Fast 50 Advisory Board members to be able to evaluate business opportunities and collaboration potential.

By submitting the application, the participant agrees that the information submitted will be passed on to sponsors/supporters and that the percentage increases in sales for the financial years 2018 and 2019 will be publicly announced and released.

By submitting the application, the participant agrees to the further use of the data provided in the registration form for repeated contact. The participant agrees to the storage of the data for further 18 months.

 

  1. Refusal of applications

Any user who does not abide by the rules, privacy policy and terms of use during her/his registration or at any time during the Fast 50 Award, will automatically and without prior notification be disqualified from the Fast 50 Award and shall not receive any award. In the event that an award goes to a participant that does not or did not comply with the rules, privacy policy and terms of use at the time of her/his registration or during the Fast 50 Award, Deloitte GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft has the discretionary right to demand the return of the award.

Deloitte GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft may refuse registration for the event without having to state cause. As a matter of principle, there is no entitlement to participate in the Fast 50 Award. Likewise, Deloitte GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft reserves the right to exclude participants at any time from the Fast 50 Award who have already been admitted. This applies, in particular, in cases in which the rules of the Fast 50 Award are breached, or if technical means or other manipulative aids are deployed. In such event, Deloitte GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft is entitled to revoke the prizes and/or to demand that they have to be returned, as the case may be. This shall also apply should the users fail to make truthful statements in providing their personal details.

 

  1. Timeline of the Fast 50 Award

The Fast 50 Award is divided into three stages:

Application stage

The application stage takes place from 1st of July until 30th of September. By 11:59 pm (CET) on 30th of September, participants must have finalized the complete application process including uploading the required deliverables.

Preselection stage

The preselection stage takes place from 1st of October to 1st of November. Evaluation will be based on the deliverables submitted by the company.

The winners of the Fast 50 Award will be selected based on their revenue increase over the last four years from 2016 to 2019. From all received applications, the 50 companies with the highest revenue growth will be awarded with the Fast 50 Award.

Announcement of winners

The 50 winners will be announced by Deloitte GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft in November 2020.

The following mentioned data of each participant will be publicly announced and communicated in various online channels:

  • Industry / Sub-industry
  • Founding year
  • Four-year revenue growth rate (in percent)
  • Short CV of CEO
  • Short description of company and technology

 

  1. Selection and reward of the Fast 50 Award winners

The winners of the Fast 50 Award will be selected based on their revenue increase over the last four years from 2016 to 2019. From all received applications, the 50 companies with the highest revenue growth will be awarded with the Fast 50 Award.

The winners of the Fast 50 Award will receive the Technology Fast 50 media kit to use it for their own marketing purposes.

Furthermore, the winners will automatically take part in the international EMEA Technology Fast 500, which Deloitte EMEA awards to the 500 fastest-growing companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. A separate application is not required. The winners of the Technology Fast 500 EMEA will participate in the Global Technology Fast 100 program, which consists of all winners of the regional Fast 500 programs (EMEA, APAC, North America). Companies must have achieved revenue of at least USD 50,000 in 2016 and at least USD 5,000,000 in 2019.

 

  1. Notification of the results of the preselection and Final Event

Deloitte GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft will inform all participants of the preselection results by no later than 16th of November. Notification will be sent via e-mail to the address entered at the time of account creation at www.deloitteinnovationplatform.com.

Deloitte GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft reserves the right to change the dates of notification of the results if this should become necessary due to the number of projects to be evaluated. Each pre-selected participant must respond to any e-mail sent by Deloitte GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft or its subcontractors before the specified deadline in the message has lapsed. Otherwise, Deloitte GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft reserves the right to disqualify the defaulting participant and the related company application.

 

  1. Privacy Policy

Deloitte GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft stores and processes your personal data as defined in the privacy policy of the Deloitte Innovation Platform www.deloitteinnovationplatform.com and in accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

 

  1. Final clause

These rules, including exhibits and all matters relating to the rules (including non-contractual obligations), shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany (without giving effect to the choice of law principles thereof). The venue is Munich, Germany.
